If the Woods Whispered, Would You Hear Them

After three years in the making, Charlotte is delighted to announce the publication of her first book –  If The Woods Whispered Would You Hear Them

Charlotte describes the book as a journal of woodland whispers that takes the reader on a journey of revelation, recognition and re-evaluation via images and text.

In 2012, Charlotte uprooted her life, moving from the UK to the Netherlands – a change that deepened her connection with trees and the natural world. Unable to speak Dutch, she set aside her portrait photography and found solace in the landscapes surrounding her new home. This transition ignited a passion for creative landscape photography, with trees and woodlands becoming her muse.

What started as a simple personal project to make images and journal the experience when visiting her local woods grew into something far bigger that Charlotte felt compelled to share wider.

Through a blend of photographic techniques, poetry, and journaling,  Charlotte captures the beauty, individuality, and seasonal rhythms of trees while drawing attention to the growing threats they face due to human intervention.

In the book you will find over 90 images that she has made with each with a piece of text to accompany it. The words are designed to complement the images, and offer a more immersive and contemplative experience whilst enjoying the book.

Kind Words About The Book

If The Woods Whispered Would You Hear Them

Charlotte I love your book. I can see, smell and feel the forest while reading and looking. You even triggered long forgotten childhood memories. Thanks for the world you captured! And mabe also - thanks for opening a maybe forgotten part of my soul - Ria - Netherlands

Thank you for the book. It is precious in more ways than one. Firstly knowing the author, your musings are the closest thing to my heart, as I too LOVE TREES and I also beliece they have life and are characters surrounding us as protectors and tutors. Most of all I love your easy descriptive style that transports one from suburbia to a cool and medative retreat of stillness, which actually heightens one's sesnses and widens one's awareness - making one feel at one with the cosmos. Thank you and congratulations, I am savouring the experience. Leela - Australia

I am loving your book Charlie. I am picking it up most days and going through looking and reading . One can really feel the relationship you have with the beautiful trees you captured. My answer to your title Charlie would be “ yes” But one must get very close and be very patient as you show here, And this is what you have done and expressed your great respect and love for these  life surging  gentle giants in our midst.

You have kept so much of your childhood wonder but the realization that our perception as an adult from what we experienced as a child  being so different was very poignant I know the childhood memories are very real though and I for one and I love the buzz they give me. So well done Charlie for this very evocative and beautiful book . The images are so very much the essence of you and thank you for honouring these mighty and gentle giants with such respect and love. I will continue to tap into the gem through the next week and beyond which reminds me of the need to be outside in nature.
